Time and diesel are what a truck costs you. More torque lower in the rev range means a loaded Scania holds its gear on a long drag, needs fewer downshifts with a full trailer and gets back up to speed sooner after a roundabout. For a fleet, our economy remapping puts the gain into fuel rather than outright power.

A high-mileage truck gets checked over before anything changes, because a remap won't fix a sticking injector or a tired turbo. Running other makes as well? We remap MAN and DAF trucks too.

The calculator covers the G, P and R series, Euro 6 trucks included, from the 230 hp R-series up to the 730 hp V8. Here are 3 of the Euro 6 engines at Stage 1:

• R-series 450 (Euro 6): 450 hp and 2,350 Nm as standard, 510 hp and 2,750 Nm at Stage 1
• R-series 520 (Euro 6): 520 hp and 2,700 Nm as standard, 580 hp and 3,100 Nm at Stage 1
• G-series 410 (13 litre, Euro 6): 410 hp and 2,150 Nm as standard, 478 hp and 2,545 Nm at Stage 1

Those are typical figures for a standard truck in good health. Your own truck's result depends on its condition, its fuel and any work already done to it.
