Why Remap Your McLaren?
On an Irish road you rarely get near the top of the rev range, so the gain that matters is in the middle of it. A remap fills in that mid-range on the twin-turbo V8s, which makes overtaking quicker and the car easier to drive smoothly. The dual-clutch gearbox can be tuned to shift in step with the extra torque, and our DSG/TCU remapping page covers how.
For the sound to match, one of our custom exhausts finishes the job. If there's a Ferrari or a Porsche in the garage beside it, we remap those too.
McLaren Petrol Engine Tuning
The 3.8 litre twin-turbo V8 runs from the MP4-12C and 650S through the Sports Series cars such as the 540C, 570S and 600LT, and a 4.0 litre V8 powers the 720S. The Artura uses a 3.0 litre V6 hybrid. Stage 1 is a software change only, and the calculator shows any further stage and whether it needs hardware.
Here are 2 of the V8s at Stage 1, from the calculator:
- 720S 4.0 V8: 720 hp and 770 Nm as standard, 820 hp and 876 Nm at Stage 1
- 570S 3.8 V8: 570 hp and 600 Nm as standard, 624 hp and 682 Nm at Stage 1
Both assume a standard car in good health, and your own car's result depends on its condition and any work already done to it.

What happens on the day
Check your McLaren in the Remap Calculator or give us a call, then book it in. On the day it goes on our 4WD dyno for a before run, the map is written for your engine, and an after run shows you the difference in power and torque.
If your McLaren is an automatic, ask us about a gearbox (TCU) remap on the same visit.
